I got the opportunity to attend the English new Literature Component that was introduced to Form 1 and Form 4 this year, in Merdeka Palace Hotel & Suites Kuching Sarawak this week. These are the new lit components :-
For 2010
Poetry

* Mr.Nobody (Form 1)
* In the Midst of Hardship (Form 4)
* He Had Such Quiet Eyes (Form 4)
Short Stories
* Flipping Fantastic (Form 1)
* QWERTYUIOP (Form 4)
* The Fruitcake Special (Form 4)
Drama
* Gulp and Gasp (Form 4)
Graphic Novels (Form 1)
* Black Beauty
* The Boscombe Valley Mystery
* Journey to the Centre of the Earth (For Zone Sabah, Labuan and Sarawak)
# Zone has actually choosen the graphic novel that they'll do but teachers and students are allowed to read the other two graphic novels as well if they wanted to.
We really had fun with the activities introduced by BPK. In fact, they had prepared modules for each component to ease teachers' workload and to make teaching learning process as interesting as possible. Gulp and Gasp is a drama genre that all Form 4 has to make a production out of it. The teachers, lecturers and nazirs had fun at the end of the course where 8 groups had compilled a performance of it. Below are some of the pics.
